They do make them $8.99 cassette adapters that plug right into your device and plays the audio thru your cars system, it is electronic so you don't get all that cassette noise. My Jag has a cassette, I assume yours does too.

I bet there is an AAP that can stream music thru an FM channel like it does with phone calls. That thing you pictured looks like many hours of uncomfortable installation. Is it just to hook up and ipod-phone?
