schwiiing, the P1606 is essentially saying that your motor is running too cold and it is not because your fans are running. This is more than likely caused by a bad ECM, ECM relay, or a few other parts associated with the ECM. As for P1797, that is a communications fault between the ECM and TCM (engine and tranny computers). This is caused by a bad ECM, bad TCM, or CAN bus failure between the two (short or open circuit). Based on these codes, it is looking like you have a problem with the ECM. I wouldn't so much worry about the P1797 code at the moment because more than likely what is causing the P1606 code will correct the other code.
Hope this helps get you going on the right track. Unfortunately, this is probably something beyond what a normal backyard mechanic can fix unless you want to just start tossing parts at the car (first of which would be a new ECM in my book).

Tedd, it is just a sign of future problems. Sure, you can probably drive the car more and be just fine. But, one of these days you are going to be left stranded because of the ECM failing further. One thing that I would say to try is to disconnect the battery (negative terminal only), leave it disconnected for 5-10 minutes and then reconnect. Take the car for a drive afterwards and see if that corrects anything for you. We have seen where the computers can act a little flaky and sometimes the hard reset will put the computer back on the straight and narrow.
As a side note, if you disconnect the battery, you will need to reset the power windows. This is easy. Doing 1 window at a time, press and hold down the window down button. Hold it down after the window reaches full travel for an additional 3-5 seconds (sometimes you can hear a click occur). Release the switch. Lift up on the window switch to raise the windows to the fully closed position and hold in the up position after the window reaches the fully closed position for an additional 3-5 seconds (may hear a click). Repeat for all the windows, doing 1 window at a time.
