I have a 2002 jaguar xtype. There was a rattle in the rear whenever I hit a bump. The mechanic said I needed new shocks and rear coil springs. Got them ordered and put on.....still the rattle....Tom it to a different mechanic he said I needed rear control arms and lower rear front control arm....Got them put on and ask a rattle when I hit bumps can someone please help me here.... thank you

In my 2004, it was the rear sway bar bushings. They had worn enough to allow the bar to move just enough to "rattle". And they were hard as rocks. $27 and about 15 minutes of work and no more noise.

 

Do the bushings, also the end links. They can look and feel tight when they're not. Mine were shot at about 80,000 miles.
