Default New Engine Pricing and Installation Thoughts

Hello all,

The time has come and a shop has been chosen. I would like your input on cost and if I am missing anything. Again, I am the original owner of my loaded '05 x-type 3.0 Automatic with ~75k miles.

Heres the rundown:
Brand new (not reman) block and head - $1,800
Jaguar Filter and spark plugs - $22
Water pump - $45
Intake manifold gaskets - $9
Downstream o2 sensor (Denso) - $48 x 2
Upstream o2 sensor (Denso) - $59 x 2
Fuel Filter - $9
A/C Compressor - $205
Thermostat - $19
Shipping - $230
Labor and misc (oil, coolant, gaskets, etc) - $1,600

Total = $4,153

Thanks for any input!

Also, I've been searching for an 08 grill and lower mesh. Any suggestions on the cheapest place? Also looking for the sport ground effects, mostly just the front lip. Any suggestions here as well?

Default good price

Only question the intake gaskets. There is upper and lower. If you get them from jag they are 9 bucks each. And there is 12 of them. 6 upper and 6 lower.

Any questions ask me
Good luck,
The Dr!

Thanks Dr.

Yeah, the gaskets say they are a set, but they actually ended up being $9 a piece.

I confirmed with the vendor I am buying from and also 2 local Jag dealers.

Where are you seeing them $9 for the a set of 6?

Oh, I just want to point out that everything should be OEM Jag, except for the A/C compressor (still new) as the OEM is ridiculously priced.

Default gaskets

A set of 6 from auto parts store is about 20 to 30 bucks near me. They are not OEM but have just as long if not longer warranty.

Alright. I thought you were speaking of OEM. I figured I should stick with all OEM since I am putting in a brand new block and head. I got both sets for $84 total.

I did see the aftermarket ones from the auto parts stores for $20-40 per set, so I guess not too bad in comparison.
