Hi you guys,I probably shouls have asked this before I got started but...

I'm changing the bonnet release cable on my '03 x-type.BIG problem is,

I have got everything taken apart but the cable is stuck somewhere and I

can't pull it out from the car.

I cut the cable about 20 inches to the outside of the firewall is.That left me

with plenty of cable to grab and pull it out but it's definitely stuck somewhere

and I can't get it out.Now,I'm really worried that when or IF I do get it

out,I won't be able to get the other one back through the firewall.

Any ideas,pics, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I said (old) problem,I'm hoping I'm not the only one this has happened to.lol

 

I have replaced a few of these. I bet you have it stuck on the trans module that is under the dash. Remove the plastic kick plate on the drivers left side. Now there is a silver box behind the fuse box. There is 2 bolts way in the back 10 mm or 8mm I cant recall. Remove these bolts. Now pull the module out and you will have a clear shot to the rubber grommet holding the cable. My bet it is hooked either on a wire bundle or the metal framing under there.
