Pick yourself up a small, soft towel. You'll need it for wiping off the drool from all your friends.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have already picked it out and are just going to do the paperwork. Before you sign on teh dotted line I would highly recommend you take some time to do a thorough search on here about what to look for when buying an X. Pretty much anything that can go wrong, particular trouble spots, differences through the model years, options, etc. have been discussed here at least once. Hopefully you have already done your research. Hope yours turns out as reliable as mine has been for me.

Make sure the oil is clean no milky oil, which could be a head gasket blown. Check all the fluids and make sure they are clean. check the tires for even wear. Make sure EVERYTHING WORKS in the car, windows, moonroof if equipped radio, seats, doors lock auto when above 5mph or so, key FOB works. Test drive and make sure the brakes are good, find a spot where there is no one in back of you accelerate to about 40MPH and slam on the brakes and make the the car stops straight and a reasonable distance and there is no noise in the brakes. Check the A pillar where the front doors attach for rust on both sides. Open the hood and look down on each side to the frame rail make sure they are straight and they are not welded, could be the car saw the wrong side of a bush. Open the rear bonnet and lift up the rug and make sure the floor is flat where it meets the body, if it buckled the car has taken a rear end hit. Get a plastic magnet and run it over the body if it falls off there is Bondo under the paint. If you don't have a plastic magnet, take a regular one and put some tape around it, as not to scratch the paint. Make sure all the seams are even and doors and bonnets line up.
While you test driving it, asked yourself does the car feel good to drive? if the answer is yes, buy it, if not walk away. Also expect to pay about $1000 in repairs the first couple of months. It is a used car so there will be things that go wrong.
