Default New tire installation

Question, I am getting a new front left tire. The tire guy says that he will rotate the back tire to the front left and place the brand new tire to the back. Is this the right way of doing?

What kind of tread depth do the other 3 have?

I am unsure. One is only a year old and the other two are mediocre.

Technically, AWD vehicles should be running the same tire at all four corners and with the same tread depth.

It sounds like you are going to now be running 3 different tread depths and tread (if they aren't the same tire).

I'll let the experts chime in, but I think the 3 different tread depths and potentially tires are going to put some extra strain on the car, but I could be wrong.
