Default New X-Type Estate owner

I just scored this on eBay. Seems like a decent deal. I know "sight unseen" but for the price I didn't think I could really lose. I wasted a lot more on my ex-wife...

It's the gray wagon on the "ended" section, not the maroon sedan....

Oops, new to this forum stuff. I'll figure out how to post pics... It's a gray/black 2005 Wagon with 124K on it and looks pretty clean.

I saw that one for sale. Unfortunately it doesn't have DSC option, so I passed on it. Otherwise, looks to be in great condition. Hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed our Estate wagon so far.

I didn't research enough about the DSC option prior to buying. Not sure how much I'll miss it if I've never had it. I've daily driven everything from race ready, modified Miatas to lifted and locked, offroad Suzuki Samurais to rusted out, old faithful Mercedes W123s. So, I'm hoping it's not too difficult without DSC...

You can read up on DSC in these links. (You'll only miss it in snow country and adverse weather conditions.)

'hope that you enjoy the car Capn,

I bought my '07 X-Type sedan off of ebay about a month ago, and we drove my wife's '08 150 miles to pick it up. Was the car as nice in person as it was in the ebay photos? No, But for $3800.00 and having 70k miles on it I could live with the cosmetic issues.

On the drive home I noticed the bigger differences between the two cars; My car has the 16" wheels and rides like a "traditional" Jaguar, Janet's has the 18" Aruba's and the ride is obviously harsher as to be expected. Janet's has the Luxury option with more "bells and whistles", whereas mine is more spartan. We're enjoying both cars immensely, I clay-barred and waxed Janet's car 2-weeks ago ago and due to the rain and crud that we've been having here in Socal, and that I work from home; Janet's been driving my car to work and back. When I asked her how she likes the feel of my car, she said it's rides great! When I asked her if she wants to replace the Aruba's with the 16" wheels tires on my car she said H*** NO! (I'm currently reconditioning a set of X-Type 18" Proteus wheels for mine).

I've owned several BMW's,Merc's, and a few Jaguars over the years.. The X-Type has EVERYTHING I could want or need in a my idea of a sport sedan. We were thinking about picking up an X-Type Estate when we relocate to San Antonio next year; The X-Type's have been so easy to own, We decided to buy a Discovery II ('98-'02) to add a bit of aggravation to our life...

Update: Just saw Capn's X-Type Estate on his updated URL to Ebay.. NICE! Very nice.. The silver exterior with the black interior looks sharp!
