No sound from Premium Stereo
Need some help here. 2004.5 with the premium sound system. Radio was on and sound stopped. Turned car off and on then all I could hear was a whine with the radio off or on. Checked fuses and then unpluged the connectors on the amp and plugged back in. Now I have no sound. The radio turns on but no sound.
Is the amp shot or do I need to reprogram the system since I unpluged the amp.

Hi kccode1,
I have the premium system as well and even if the amp in the back is unplugged I still get sound from my tweeters.
I also have never had to do any programing when the amp was unplugged.
This sounds related to the head unit but I'm sure some smarter people on here will advise.

I just got time to look at the wiring diagram. It looks like all the speakers go out of the amp so I don't see how the tweeters would work if the amp is unplugged. I have the Premium ICE set up.
Just an update. Daughter got in the car the next day. Started it then turned on the radio and I worked fine. Don't have a clue what happened. Maybe some circuit breaker in the amp reset. She said it worked today too.
This might be a bit of a stretch, but thought I would mention it nonetheless.
A couple years ago my son borrowed my car and said that all of a sudden the radio wouldn't work. There was power to the display and everything seemed normal except there was no sound. Turned out it was a fiber optic cable that came loose. The way it is placed you might be able to snag it getting in or out of the car. Seeing as he is 6'4" with giant feet he must have caught it.If you look under the dash between the drivers door and steering column you will see it. It might be in the socket, but not latched causing an intermittent connection. It is pretty apparent if you look under there and can't miss it. Like I said, it's a long shot, but worth a quick look.
