I have a 02, Xtype with 137, I started having a rumbling noise when I took my foot off the gas pedal now the noise is worse it gets louder as I accelerate. I also get a thump when I put it gear. I think it's rear CV axel but no torn boots?

The rear CV axles don’t flex like the fronts do.


Any ideas?

 

Could be the propeller shaft u-joints and/or center support bearing..They can cause all kinds of noises.

If that is the case..the whole thing must be replaced as a complete assembly.
