Default Noisy Radio

Hi all.
Wonder if anyone can help. I have an x type 2006. I changed my jaguar cd player to a jaguar cassette player. All the conectors were the same however, im getting terrible crackling like theres a crossed wire even though everything works as it should. It comes up on the touch screen ok
and icons work when you touch them. Also the steering wheel controls work ok. im at a loss?
Any help would be appreciated lads.
I bought the cassette of ebay so it may be that, but basically it all works as it should apart from this terrible static and cracking noise.

Cheers!

Can you elaborate. Do you know where the ground is for the head unit, bearing in mind that i only removed the sat nav / cassette. i didnt work anywhere but that location. Also is it possible for me to re-ground it and if so how ie from where to where.
Cheers!

This may be completely irrelevant, but I'm just curious. Why did you swap the CD for the Cassette deck in 2009

HaHa. well, all my best music is on tapes. It would take forever to convert them. Ive converted to tape deck as i want to fit a cd changer in the boot, then somehow fit a system for mini discs and ipod plus usb for my dongle stick. Then i can play all media. I would be happy with just a mini disc to tell you the truth but jaguar dont do one for under my sat nav. x type 2006. So that was the plan. I bought the tape deck for £10 off ebay and sold the cd for £80 but im stuck with nothing now as its vertually unplayable. Best plans eh. Ican see it costing me a fortune now unless someone can help me rectify the fault. So there you have it
