I was talking with someone on this thread a year or so ago and he sent me some pictures of his oil catch can installation. I misplaced them. If anybody has some, I'd like to have another look and also, like to hear how it was done and its efficiency in keeping the throttle body clean. Thanks.

HAHAHA, breakfast was Toast and Vegemite, I THNIK.

I will dig around and find them and repost, NO issues this end.

Mine has been there a while, and I have NOT emptied it. Nothing on the Dipstick, so why re-invent the wheel.

The oil is now 14 months old, and it is 10W40 Synthetic Nulon. It is JUST now showing slight discolourisation.
OK, last year i did a whopping 5200kms, and this year to date, 2450kms, so the use is NOT what it was, and NOT good for the engine, but it is what it is.

I removed the Inlet and washed it out, oh boy, that sucker was sad.
All the silly codes and stuff have not returned, and the oily fume "pinging" is GONE. The beast be smooth and strong.

I did not buy it. Son In Law still owes me dowry for the Daughter, and I am collected, bit by bit.
He uses ?Bay and ?mazon.
Only addition was some PROPER Black Oil hose, as the stuff supplied was too thin in the wall, and saw issues pretty quick.

Thanks Grant. I really appreciate you answering. I think I just wanted some reassurance that it will work as well as yours has. I will too get some good quality hoses. On other Jag models, I have read that some have experienced huge quantities of water in the canister, but obviously our model has better plumbing, or maybe they haven't been installing them correctly. I jus ordered a catch can from Aliexpress, and it seems to be the same as yours. Thanks again.

Simple as drinking beer under a shade tree.

Look at your PCV valve, and the hose that runs acroos the engine to the throttle body, remove that hose, stash it for when you sell the beast and want to keep the can.

CAREFULLY grip the 90deg top of the PCV, and rotate it to face the RH wheel area. If it dont turn,m get a hair drywe, smile at Mum as you leave the house with that, and warm the sucker up, it will rotate, but TAKE YOUR TIME.
Mount the can. I made a bracket with a SLOT in the end, and used an existing hole in that top panel, and it sat there without any issues. The SLOT is so I only have to loosen that bolt to remove the can, instead of farting around with a nut on the bottom with arthritis hands, damn.
Hose to can, 2 clamps.
Another length of hose, can to Inlet spigot, 2 clamps.

Hose, we got 2mtrs from Autobarn, I think??? Oil drain hose is its name, and it comes in Red, Bllue or Black. Black is the proper colour, really.

Those with water in the cans are not connected properly, OR, they dont drive the car proper, too sedate, and/or, the engine is probably running too cold, condensation is a Bugga.

Thanks again, Grant. Yes, after I looked at the photos in detail, I saw how easy it is. Good advice on rotating the PCV connection. I don't have the engine cover either - for some reason the last owner had it removed. Also, nice to read your comment on condensation. I too agree with your comment on arthritis in the hands - I have the same affliction - too bloody old and too many years playing AFL footy and working on aircraft and cars.
