Default Oil FIlter Question????

I grabbed a Motorcraft FL-400s from the dealer yesterday. Just wanted to check that they gave me the right one!!! Before I go about changing the oil on my 2003 2.5 X type!

Not sure as I always use K&N but it should be a large filter meaning tall.

Striker, I can't recall the number of the filter that I normally get, but looking it up on the internet, that is the one that most of the sites list. When you pull the old one, put it next to the new one to make sure that the dimensions are about the same. If they are, then all is good.

For some reason, I am thinking that I normally get the Motorcraft FL-420S, but I can be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

FL400S is correct. I have a 2.5 X-type and I'm a Ford parts guy!

And no matter how careful you are, there always be oil spilled onto the exhaust then on the floor.

But I tell you, once you've loosened the filter after service guys tightened with all his might, you are glad the next time you can loosen it without such a struggle.

The filter is indeed large. I use either factory OEM or WIX from NAPA Auto. Both give me peace of mine.
