hey guys,

i am looking to buy a used car for my wife to drive so she doesnt keep racking up so many miles on her truck.

looking for something around a 2000 - 2002 model.

i have considered lots of different cars. jag, mercedes, bmw, volvo, lexus and even a lincoln ls. we had a c class mercedes and was very pleased with it. we ran it for 185,000 miles and sold it. bought it with 70k miles and only had to replace a bushing in the shifter.

i could buy a camry or accord or something like that but they are pretty boring to me. i was looking for something a little more " cool". reliability is an issue since my wife will be driving it mostly and most times will have our 3 yr old boy with her. i also might want to use this car for our frequent out of town trips.

my questions are.....where does and s-type and x-type jag stack up against the other sport sedan makers? is there a lot of reliability issues? we have been known to keep a car for a long time with excess mileage so would youfeel better with your wife and child in a bmw or mercedes with 150,000 miles instead of a jag? which do you reccomend, and s-type or x-type?
