optomistic fuel economy result
does everyone have the fuel economy feature on the display on the dash?
I reset mine at every tank but it is no where near accurate.
It often tells me the average for the tank is around 10l/100km, but I have to add close to 12l to fill it up.
anyone had any luck getting that thing to read accurately? I wish i Got 10 l/ 100km... that would be much better.

not a feature I have mate. Maybe only on the 3.0 or a stateside option, so I wouldn't know!

RE: optomistic fuel economy result
what I dont get it that this X type is touted to be one of the most advance and electronic car out there..
my 1988 BMW is able to get the consumption calculated down to the last drop.
even the range function is stupid.. the low fuel light comes on at about 65 km remaining.... then after another 10 km ,,, (the display says range of 55km ) it suddenly jumps to say 575 km range...
kinda hard to know when to fill up... hard to know when the thing is running well..

Lol.....yeah but my Saab does the same.
Head off on a long journey starting at maybe 43.7 mpg and showing 428 DTE (Distance To Empty) travel maybe 350 miles and mpg is showing 48.4 with DTE maybe at 309!
Yet, when you've been out of the car for a while and re-enter to carry on your journey, it either shows the original figures, what you finished on, or sometimes a combination of both.
I was told it fluctuates so much as it works out an average constantly updating.
Annoying, but there it is

Remember reading a post somewhere bout the fuel gauge readings being a bit hit n miss.
My drive is on an ophill slope, an I know that when Im get into the X the guage shows maybe dead on half full.
After reversing off the drive, and driving for a few minutes it shows nearly 3/4 tank........lol
I know when she needs topped up!

2002 jaguar’s fuel indicator incorrect reading.....
Funny, the 2005 has one as well, and the entire fuel pump/sender and some other stuff needs to be replaced....wow...I’m so behind my bulletins! lol(XT310-05)

You have to be notified of recalls. TSBs are a different matter, though. Check out this link:
