Over cooling there must be a answer ??
One important thing I forgot to ask: Is cabin heater and defroster working normally? If the mechanicals are working properly but the gauge is not then the problem has to be sensor, gauge or wiring. Part number for the sensor is JDE10862; forum sponsor SNG Barratt's UK website shows price at L28.42 (sorry don't know how to get pound symbol).
Sensor has been changed 3 times now, dash gauge is giving the correct reading as i have had the OBD2 plugged in giving the temperature reading , as already mentioned i suspect the sensor Loom or the ECU
If I understand correctly - thermostat is working properly and gauge reading agrees with sensor report to ECU. Were it me I'd live with the nuisance until some other idea appears. I might check wiring from sensor to ECU but would not replace ECU itself as that'd be quite dear methinks.
