Mitch, you are suffering from a common issue with the X-TYpe. Your problem most likely lies in 1 of 3 spots. The question is how you want to deal with it. Because you are only getting the one, it most likely is the IMT valve o-ring that has failed and is causing the vacuum leak. New o-rings are like $3 (if you do some looking, or like $15 from the dealer) and take all of about 5 minutes to install (7mm wrench, undo 2 bolts, back the IMT valve out, slip off the old o-ring, slip on the new, tighten down).

After that, I would be looking at the brake booster line that runs from the top of the motor over to the brake booster. Specficially you want to look at the "football" piece (aka, check valve). The plastic for this piece becomes brittle with exposure to heat and if you rub it with your finger and you get dust off of it, you need to replace it. Also look for any signs of cracking.

The final piece to look at is the PCV hose. This runs from the valve cover nearest the radiator to the inside of the intake manifold elbow. The underside of this hose tends to split and therefore result in a vacuum leak. This is especially true if you have a smooth hose there. If you have the ribbed hose, then the possibility of this is dramatically less. If in doubt of whether you have a ribbed or smooth hose, then you have the smooth hose.

IF this doesn't fix your issue, let me know as there are 2 other possibilities.

i just fixed this same stuff today. 26$ in parts and 10 minutes and it was done. mine was 8mm bolts on the IMT ring replacement. you dont have to get the genuine part they didnt have the part listed in other post but was able to find a 3.5mm thick set and it worked great. for 6$ i got 4 of them so i have 2 spares.

the lower o ring was just as easy just unbolt and turn the unit 1/3 turn and then pop it over the edge of the manifold. didnt have to losen or take anything off for those other than the IMT VALVE. dont pull upword while popping over the edge or you may damage the flap actuator thing.

the person in other post warned so i better also. the 8mm bolts on the IMT VALVE want to strip if you go fast. so go slow until it starts turning freely.

the parts store didnt have the replacement. but they went back and found one that worked very well. nice tight fit and a little thicker than the original which makes for good fit in engine also. it looks to be for a coolant thermostat or something so it should be good with heat.
