P0405 & P0401 Fault Codes

P0405 & P0401 Fault Codes
Hi, I would appreciate some guidance as to what to do with the following.
I have a 2.2D Sport, runs fine, pulls like a train. Jumped in it tonight to return home and the amber engine management light came on.
Ran a code reader on it and it shows P0405 & P0401 (along with both pending as well as acive).
A check around the forum / net says these are EGR related. Can you tell me exactly what I need to do to fix this, the car is an 06 plate.
