Default Parking brake cable lube

My parking brake on passenger side stays stuck if you engage parking brake. I have used wd-40 but it's still sticking . Anything better out there to lube it with. Thanks for any info

gragner, I have had this problem numerous times. Unfortunately, I always seem to end up putting a new caliper on to fix the issue. My problems have been internal to the caliper, not the cable itself. You can get a new caliper through Napa for around $110 before tax and core charge. Swapping out the caliper is easy. Just remember to get a pint of brake fluid to allow you to bleed the brake before driving.

WD40 is NOT a lubricating oil!

WD40 is good stuff but just remember it's only fuel oil/ diesel fuel under pressure (co2) that smells good. good parts cleaner but lubricating not so much.

The caliper is new. As of less than a year ago with less than 5000 miles on it But the parking brake assembly is rusted worse than the other side I replaced both rears when I put new rotors on. Thnx for the info looks like I might need a new one though

The rear calipers on these cars are known to have problems. My recommendation is to buy one from a scrap yard and then buy a rebuild kit depending on how loose your new, used caliper

Default this might help

I found that a very good product to loosen anything is KROIL. Type it into
google and see. I have removed rusted brake connections, hubs, and even cleaned out the jets on a riding lawn mower carb, don't need much and it smells funky but it works
