Default Parking sensor module confusion

Hi all,

After picking up a 2007 2.0 diesel SE, it turns out parking sensors don't work. Being as it is difficult to see the back of the car when reversing, I want to get it fixed.

I have checked the sensors, there is no noise from any of them, and I have checked the fuse which is fine. After reading on the internet, this would point to a duff module.

I have searched on ebay, but there seem to be dozens of variants of the parking module, and I would like to know which would be compatible.

On my module I have the following:

4x43 15k866
HW02 Swo4 Code 01

Would a module with the same but 2 letters after fit, such as 4X4315K866AC, for example?

Many thanks in advance

Hi Dell, thanks for the link, I have already checked that.

I put the care in reverse in position II without engine on, reverse light was illuminated. Checked each of the 4 sensors for chirping - there is no noise from any of them.

There is no bing or bong or any noise at all when engaging reverse.

Fuse is fine. Have checked cables plugged into module correctly.

I am pretty sure it is the module. I want to know if I can fit a module with code 4X4315K866AC (HWo2 sw04 CODE 01) when my original module is 4x4315k866 (HwO2 SW04 CODE 01)

Thanks

I confuse myself sometimes in responses, so clarification = moving to a newer version software is not a challenge as long as the HARDWARE, is the same for the hardwiring.

Look carefully at the connections on the module. My parking sensors weren't working and it seems the previous owner or SOMEONE... had unplugged them from the module!

I plugged them back in and it all started working again.

Ok, so module arrived. I installed it, now I get clicking from all but one sensor, and a 3 second tone when turning the car on, so looks like I need a replacement sensor.

Are all the sensors the same, or are the outer and inner sensors different? The faulty one is the third from the left.

The outer and inner sensors are different. On one type the connector
is at a right angle to the sensor. On the other the connector is straight.
I forget which is which. You should be able to tell by peeking under
the bumper shell.

Outer sensors have the straight connection, the inner ones the angled connection.

After weeks of putting it off, finally got round to fitting sensor - fiddly as hell to reach under bumper to unclip, but did it in the end. All working correctly now.
