Passenger airbag light.

When I have a passenger in my car the passenger airbag light illuminates for airbag off?.. What is the issue?

Lightweight or small person? The S-Types have a weight sensor and also ultrasonics or the like to sense size. Do the X-Types?

My 180lbs buddy. Wasn't sure if there is a remote shut off or something.

There is a sensor under the seat. Occupant must exceed a certain weight for airbag on. If your buddy doesn't turn the airbag on, check sensor. There was another thread on checking/ adjusting this.
