Passenger side axle
The passenger side axle needs to be replaced. Is it an easy straight forward job ? Has anyone done this? Local shop wants about $650. I am wondering if this is a pain in the **** job?
Contemplating whether to do it myself.
Thanks in advance...

Just the outer section of the shaft should be removed. (the inner 'through shaft' needs to stay in the transfer case)
The warranty time from Jaguar is 1.6 hours. REAL world time is about 2.5 hours.
Online parts outlet prices range from $30 to $100 for the Right CV axle, new with boots.
The short intermediate shaft SHOULD NOT be removed from the transfer case which would likely result in the inner clip tearing the seal between the gearbox and transfer case.
Jaguar issued the dealers a SPECIAL TOOL to keep the shaft from being pulled too far out of the case.
Just separate the inner CV joint from the intermediate shaft and leave the through shaft in place.
