You can remove the glass. BUT Be very careful of the center adjustment. There is plastic tabs that can easily break dead center of the mirror. Best thing is if the mirror is cracked pull from both edges while holding your thumbs in the center of the mirror.

Hope this Helps,
Good Luck,
The Dr!

Enter your model, year, then go to: front door, outside mirrors, mirror glass. If it is the passenger one, you have to choose the one with the warning.

Good luck.

I'm sure you will succeed. If you could make a video of the replacement it would be great. There are a few on YouTube.

I haven't done mine yet, as it is still too cold up here. Instead, I have to deal with a chip on my windshield from a small rock that hit me yesterday Fortunately, I booked a mobile repair service through the internet and they're coming today to fix it while it's still manageable.

LOL! I just had the same rock incident happen yesterday and had it repaired. Small world Anyway, I just got done with the removal and installation. It literally took me like 3 minutes-including cleaning off the finger prints. Installing it warrants a gentle took on the outer edge. You have to put slight pressure on the inside edge while trying to snap back on the outside edge. You need to put your 4 fingers on the backside of the motors side clip WHILE using your thumb to push on the mirror to snap it back on. The reason I say use your fingers like this instead of just pushing on the outer edge is because the mirror may crack since you are pushing on the inner side at the same time. Does this make since?? Hope this helps someone else like others have helped me above

If anyone would like me to make a video of this, I will be more than happy to. Just let me know.

I haven't yet. It's freezing up here and we are buried in snow. But my windshield has been successfully repaired.

At last,mirror successfully replaced!

The removal was easier than the install; I had to "play" a lot with it before it "clicked" into its spot. Altogether, it took 5 minutes. You have to insert the portion closest to the car first and then "push in" the portion farthest from the car.

Unfortunately, there was nobody available to video me doing it, but there are a few videos on YouTube showing how with other car makes.

Jaguar wanted 1850 to repair mirror and motors. I got new motor and mirror because mirror mounts broke out with mirror and trim cap when it got hit.

I bought them myself and installed it but didn't know how to snap it in until I found this thread. Then it took about one minute. thanks so much. Also only cost about 350.
