I've recently purchased an X-Type with no documentation and I wondered if anyone could tell me what the button with the phone icon does?
I have this idealistic notion that it will connect to my phone via bluetooth, but it's probably something more mundane that needs wiring, but confirmation would be great.

BTW: I've been reading loads about Jaguars on this great forum - just spent all morning browsing the posts - you guys love your Jaguars.

 

If you have a telephone iin your arm rest you put a sim in it to use it like a mobile phone

I have an 03 x-type also. I talked with the Service Mgr at the Jag dealer re: the phone connectivity. He explained that it is the old analogue technology & won't work with todays celluar systems. Too expesive to upgrade it. It's just an ornament now

 

Its certainly not the old analogue technology. The analogue stopped being used well before the x-type came out.

I have a microsim in my handset which works just fine.
As I stated earlier, 3g does not work, but 2g does.
