Default Photoshopped Oni Camber... What do you think?

Couple of mods via photoshop, curious what the Jaguar community thinks.

Looks like you dropped it from a great height from a crane somewhere in a remote parking lot so when it landed the wheels bent out at a wierd angle kind of like one of those cars you see on tv but not quite the same like what you have in a dream when you wake up screaming and sweating you know it was just a dream but still your totally freaked out like it was real and you can feel it even though you know that it was just in your head and could never happen in a million years it's all make believe...or is it?

I like it... but i think it should be toned down just a little bit. Good photoshopping, just looks a little too extreme

Not saying I'm going to do it, just soliciting your responses.

"Oni Camber"? This is something that's done on purpose? I've only seen this a couple of times, but I thought it could be attributed to a poorly done drop job.

I know next to nothing about that slammed/poked/stretched culture, but just curious. Would something like what you 'shopped actually be something that someone would drive like that or is it just how it looks with the bags deflated and the wheels would be more upright when in motion? If it's the former, how would that handle or how long would the tires last?

What kind of modifications would you have to do to get a look like that?

By the way, I don't like that look at all.....not at all. Nope, can't see the point of it My X has stock 18s that are 90 degrees vertical, which I think are as extreme as I dare. I'm getting old and starting to think that maybe it isn't as bad as I once thought. :>)

Couldn't you kind of get that look by just waiting for your control arm bushings to disintegrate?

ive heard there is a company that has made tires specifically designed for cars with excessive camber (oni camber as you put it lol)
i think it looks good but you are going to loose a lot of your tire footprint, which means traction issues.

people drive car like this in Japan and it is almost exclusive to Japan. I wouldn't ever do this. While I was a bit averse to the stretch and poke thing when I first was mass exposed to it living in Germany 15 years ago, I don't ever see myself coming around to ONI camber. It took me a couple months to like the German look, this could take years if it ever catches. I do like up to about 5 degrees of negative camber on the right car and mega low pre-IRS Volkswagens where the rear looks this way.

So this started in Japan, huh? Isn't that the place that popularized the fart can muffler? That might explain it.

Japanese for "demon" camber... ie ridiculous amounts of it. The people that do it know its not functional, they just do it to do it.

Never been a fan of the look. I'm all for negative camber but trying to drive around with -16 camber is just stupid and everyone will think your car is broken. Worst of all, you're stretching tiny 225 width tires on 12 inch wide wheels and with that much camber, you've got about as much contact patch with the ground as a bicycle.

"Oh noes!!! Godzirra stepped on my car!!!"

They are 18s though, factory diameter, what is wrong with the size?

Allen, I'm totally with you. If there was some way to have worm drive motors that did this for shows (maybe rear only and not so extreme, but maybe 8 degrees max) and was safe, it would be a fun thing for parking the car. Kind of like depleting the air bags.

Sanity check. I don't drive at the height I usually post of pictures of the car at and am usually about an inch higher in normal driving. Anything less than about 40 psi is a bit too minitruck-ride-ish, otherwise at normal pressures it rides like coilovers in my opinion.

In front of me on my morning commute today. Picture taken at 8:15 outside DC. Oni Camber!

OK. I realize it's not an oni Camber car, but it's interesting that I happened to see someone right in front of me...

That is a basic camber kit and about 6 or 7 degrees negative camber, but good eye in noticing that car. Oni camber to me is like 15-40 degrees negative.

OMG could you have posted a bigger pic???????

That's not even CLOSE to oni camber..... I don't even think that is more than -4 or -5 tops. It actually doesn't look half bad on that car.

I took it with my iphone. wish there was a way to shrink it. I was kidding about it being oni camber. It's very slight, but deliberate. In this case, the car looked decent...
