Pics of my new $40 spoiler (painted, and shipped)
So my old and I think stock replica spoiler was cracked in the center and pitted. The color didn't even match (flat black vs my metallic black) so I decided to look for a new one. I know some members have beat around the bush on this topic and were hesitant to waste $40 on a spoiler because it might not be the right size or color. Anyways, I hope to clear this up and help people make their car a little bit better.
The thing about this spoiler is that it is painted and shipped in a straight box so the spoiler doesn't originally fit the contour of the trunk. With that being said, the spoiler is very bendy and malleable, so I set it between a couple ski boots and the wall for a day or two to get the spoiler to be the right contour. Also, this spoiler attaches via adhesive so it's really one shot to get it right. What I did, and it worked very well, was to first put the spoiler in the right position without peeling the adhesive. Then I marked the sides of the spoiler with masking tape so I would know where to place the spoiler once the adhesive was peeled off.

kota, I didn't even have any problems with the paint codes. I sent them the jaguar paint code and which called for metallic graphite or whatever the color is. I was worried it was just going to be black like the one that was on my car before, but they actually painted it metallic and it is a very professional paint job that fits the car perfectly!

I'm sure the price is pretty much the same no matter what the colour!
I bought this sometime ago for my Audi A6 ( The X type already had one when I had it ).......It came and was a prefect colour match and a great fit.
It was a 3M adhesive tape already pre installed to fit just as they do from the factory.

Great to hear Kota! I hope you like it! I really love mine!
carwatcher, I never tried to put it on straight out of the box because I wanted to make sure I got my spoiler lined up perfectly the first time. I also had to get my absolutely perfect because I had a lot of holes in my boot where the old spoiler mounted which I had to cover up with this. With that being said, if complete perfection is not your forte and you are ok with it being 95% right, I'm sure you can put it on straight out of the box. The only reason I bent mine to the contour is so that I would have a perfect mock up when I went to outline where I wanted to spoiler in masking tape before applying it.

It's sunny & warm so it's taped to the trunk right now, my hope is that it will conform in an hour or two
Just went out to look after one hour, still fightin me...

I took mine straight out of the box and laid it on the trunk, it was out of sorts side to side & front to back.

Waited another hour and was rewarded for my patience... By now the Spoiler was malleable enough to attach.
The cool thing is my wing came with two thin strips of foam tape so with the aide of my wife we started at one end, pulling the tape backing at right angles to the spoiler til we got to the next piece of blue tape, peeled that up, then on to the next. very methodical and pretty foolproof
Cheers
