Last night while driving home my door locks started to freak out, lock and unlocking themselves throughout the drive. This also caused my dome light to come on. I then noticed my door ajar light come on. I pulled over and checked all doors, slamming them shut then proceeded to go to my trunk and of course my trunk wont respond to me at all. The release button wont open the trunk and neither would my key fab. I removed the fuse to the dome and floor lights to ensure my battery wouldnt die.

This problem came out of nowhere, I hadnt used the trunk in a few days.

battery is new, everything else works on the key fab and i sprayed lubricant into the door hinges hoping that would help but nothing.

PLEASE HELP ME. I have no other vehical and a 7 month old son that needs to get around.

PS I just spent 4k on replacing the oil pan gasket, driveshaft and lower control arms. I am so close to burning this car.

 

First check all the doors that you do not have anything that could prevent them from closing properly. If that is not the problem then I would spray a little WD40 into each door latching mechanism and work the door (open & close) a few times. The car is 9 years old that the lubricant in the door can gum up and cause the latch and switches to operate improperly the WD40 will free it up. Try this first. Hope this helps!

 

Actually did that this morning and didn't work. Why would my trunk all of a sudden be inaccessible?

 

Not sure and also not familiar with that car it sounds like an ECU for the doors and trunk. I will continue to look but I hope someone that is familiar jumps in.
