I have a X type estate 2009 model. The radio reception is very poor on any station above 100htz. I listen to smooth radio a lot and it was always okay in my previous X type saloon. One funny aspect of this problem is when i turn off the ignition the reception improves drastically. Doe's anybody have any idea's please.

 

Try replacing the antenna first, it's a cheap fix if that is the problem; assuming it is the same as a 2004 of course.
Any generic one will do, you don't have to pay Jag prices.

 

Where is the antenna located on the 04?

Mine is an estate and the antenna is just mounted on the back of the roof.
Maybe the later ones are different?
