Default Popped up defogger vent fix...

Since the dealer wanted to charge me $120 to fix replace plastic pieces (that should cost no more than $5 each), I thought I'd inspect them and see if I could come up with a homemade solution.

When they are popped up you can work your way from the outside > in, fully popping them out. You also can stick your fingers inside the vent and pull upwards. To get the edge out from where it is attached in the center of the dash, you have to pull outward towards the sideview mirrors. Once fully removed, you see the mechanism on the "outsides" that keep popping out (what a piece of crap). If you press on one end of the dual clip, you can remove that circular piece from the whole plastic molding. Now just put it back in starting with the end that is in the center of the dash and wait till it snaps in place, working from in > out while pushing the piece back in. Wholla!!! the piece actually rest in the dash very well, without the push clips forcing it to pop out and tap when you go over bumps. It is almost as if they put that circular piece in there to force it to pop out all the time (sounds like something Ford would do - hahaha).

Oh well, it worked for me - so I thought I would post it.

Later dudes, have a great weekend,
