Default Pressurised fuel tank?

Lately, when I remove my fuel cap to refill the tank, I am getting a "whoosh" sound from pressure escaping from the tank. I must have some issue with this. What can I do to find the culprit? Thanks for advice.

Let's see, what the others think of it - but I think it is normal. Even my Van does that.

Thanks, but I have never noticed it in all the years I have had this car, and I am now unsure if the air is entering or leaving the tank.

I would be checking the solenoid on the vapor canister. that is supposed to open when you turn the car off to break any vacuum that may have been created in the gas tank. You may also be noticing that it is harder to fill the car (clicks off early). This would be another sign that the vapor canister is not venting like it should.

Thanks, Thermo. Just the sort of info I was looking for.
