Default Problem with passenger side window

Hi guys, I have a 2003 X-Type 2.0D SE Manual.

There is a problem somewhere with closing the passenger side window. it is usually fine, as in it will open and close. All of a sudden it wont close fully. This lasts for days, I keep trying to open and close the window, but it either leaves a slight gap or about 1 cm gap, this varies at different times. What I do is whilst the window is closing I grab it and pull it up and it seals the gap, so theives can't see it.

Sometimes when I am closing the window it will automatically go back down and stop after going up half way. Then you have to take it up again. acts weird.

So basically whilst the window is playing up, even if your holding the window button up, it wont go up fully.

Then randomly, one day, when you pull the window button, the window will go right to the top. Then the window opens and closes fine until the next time the problem happens, usually after about a month or so which lasts about a week.

Any ideas..?

What happens if you use the passenger side window control? Same thing or different?

Sometimes it's the switch that is pooched. Other than that I might try to take the door panel off and have a look to see if something is interfereing with the operation of the window, maybe a loose nut or bolt on the regulator.

Sorry for the late reply. The problem persists with both side switches. To be honest I am not prepared to open the whole panel...

Then I guess it's an internal issue with the motor, might just need to be cleaned but if you're not willing to remove the door panel I guess it's off to the dealership eh?

A guy from autoglass told me to try some window grease. I will have to give that a shot
