Project X Speaker Upgrades

Project X Speaker Upgrades
Hi all,
So after finding out that my girlfriends new base model Suzuki Swift speaker system was MUCH better than a Jaguars I thought to myself, how can this be?? I have to upgrade.
I was going to do an all OEM upgrade buying spare parts from other Jaguars which have the premium sound system upgrade from the factory. Unfortunately my car didn't come with this option so I thought I could retrofit it in. I asked around for some prices which were far too expensive to get the original amplifier, subwoofer, speakers and tweeter so I was pretty bumbed out about that.
After a few more nights I decided to go after market, I bought two pairs of Alpine composite speakers to go straight into the doors. Unfortunately I had no where to put the tweeters, either I drill a hole in the door (which I wasn't too keen on) or I procure the door handles off another X-type with the premium sound system upgrade. These door handles come with a little tweeter grill which I could put the Alpine ones in.
After a long wait I finally got the door handles and got to work. I pulled off the door panels on my car and found to much dismay that the door handles were plastic welded onto the panel.... I had no way to take them off and put the ones I just bought back on. So much for a few simple screws or bolts. Again after thinking for a few more nights I bought myself a soldering iron then got to work. I melted the original door handles off the door panel; now for the hard part, to melt the new ones back onto the door panel. After a bit of smoke and melted zip ties, all is well.
I am very happy with the result, the new door handles held up a lot of force without budging. Time to fix the broken door panel clips, install the speakers, cross overs and tweeters. All went without a hitch and have a look at the results below. Very happy with the new system, much much better than the original or my girlfriends Swift haha and the tweeters in the door handles really work well, much better than going for a speaker system with the tweeter imbedded.
If anyone's interested in doing the same let me know, I'll give out some tips. Also looking at putting two speakers in the rear parcel shelf with a box and a 5 channel amplifier to power them and the speakers I've just put in.

Nice job. I thought all jags had tweeters in the door though. They must have had 3 systems or more to choose from. Mine must have been the middle one I have tweets in door but not premium system. I still use the factory door speakers with 2 MTX 12in subs. I like your idea of some speakers on the back deck too
