A proper Castle and tea and scones
Went on a trip (well an hour up trhe road) to Bamburgh Castle on Bank Holiday Monday(glorious sunshine unlike the southern half of the UK  )
Then we went onto Doxford Hall near Alnwick (built in 1818) where it is currently undergoing a £14m extension and as one of the local Jag club members has spent 18 months doing the cornicing we were invited up for free tea, scones and strawberries and cream coutesy of the owner who is ploughing the profits back into a cancer charity to fund specialist nurses.
Enjoy the pics:-

Then onto Doxford Hall:-
