Questions about iPhone connectivity and DVD playing
I'll be taking delivery of a "Jaguar X-Type 2.0d SE" next week, registered in 2008, and am too excited to wait for it to come, so am after some information beforehand.
Firstly, I have an iPhone 4S. It looks like that'll connect via Bluetooth just fine. What about the music though? Other posts in this forum mention the ACM, so I'll get that, but does it allow control through the car stereo / steering wheel controls, or would I have to change music on the iPhone itself?
Secondly, about the Sat Nav. Does it play DVDs too? If not, is there a modification, or would it require an entirely different stereo?
Thanks in anticipation!

Welcome to the forum
The ACM is great, it does let you use the next/previous toggle on the steering wheel or the head unit so you won't need to do that on the phone itself. I have an iPhone 4 and it works great with the ACM. Also, if you upgrade the ACM to the Dension Gateway 500's latest firmware it will allow you to use the screen of the phone while it's plugged in which can be useful if you want to switch to Pandora for music or select a specific track/album/artist.
I don't have nav so I don't know anything about that, but from what I've heard it isn't a very good nav system so I wouldn't expect much from it
