Default Quick stupid question. *picture*

Ok, I know this should be pretty simple but the more I think about it, the less certain I am. I'm buying a metra receiver kit and know I can't tell if this is grey or black. I guess I'm just confused because it "looks" black but it's not as black as the buttons or surrounding pad and after looking online at other interiors, there are a few that are as black as the buttons.

Carwatcher, what a lot of members have done is painted the Metra kit to make it match their cars exactly. After painting it, you can spray it with a clear satin finish paint and it will give you the same overall look as the rest of your car. By doing things this way, you can make it whatever color you want.

Well, I don't mind if it doesn't match 100%. I just don't want to buy a black kit if it is grey...so I'm guessing it is grey and not black.

I'll tell you what I did with mine and I think it looks better.
I went to a fabric store and got a piece of PLeather (vinyl leather pattern) that matched (color wise) the top of my dash and hot glued that onto the double DIN face plate.

I am seriously considering the plates around the HVAC control and the hazards/seat heating as well.

you can go nuts like me and do 3M Di-Noc vinyl over these pieces also

$50 will transform your interior if you want to do it.

Ok, I installed the stereo today and I would say the gray metra kit is about 98% accurate. Hardly noticeable unless you really look at it in bright sunlight. Very pleased.

Here's a pic...I had to install the receiver in the bottom because on top it would hit the black ac box and it would stick out. Looks kinda weird, but it doesn't bother me, there's also a bit of a gap between the metra kit and the ac section, but also not a deal breaker. Anyways, I'm currently back on the stock stereo because the Kenwood would turn off and on with any bump, I'm waiting on a replacement harness because the original that came with the stereo was faulty. I have to say there was a huge improvement in sound just by changing the receiver, well worth the $250 I paid for it plus having bluetooth and ipod connectivity is just a must.

The only thing I just couldn't get to work was the swi-jack for the steering controls and I'm not paying $100 for someone else to install it...oh well, I can live without that.
