Default R1 Drilled and Slotted Rotors are on!!

just got the R1 Concepts rotors on, ive got them on my caddy and now the jags got them.
they really look great and R1 Concepts had great rotors and great prices.
they bite really hard, but havent pushed them yet just to allow them to break in properly.

its cheaper to order these from california and pay shipping and import taxes than it is to buy OEM rotors in canada. it cost $320 plus $20 for taxes for 4 rotors and ceramic pads.

the rear brakes are small...fronts are a little bigger. and they are 20x8.5
i was a little surprised that the calipers are only single piston.

Default Tires

Hankook are nice tires no problem with theirs, I also like Dunlap, they are smooth tires also.

Wheels look great. From past experience make sure the lug nuts are torqued properly. Almost all after-market rotors are less beefy than original Jag's. Improper tightening with an impact wrench in the hands of an over zealous tech can warp and ruin your new rotors. Some of those guns can put out 3 times the amount of force needed. As gun is used pressure changes, resulting in uneven tightening. Jack

R1 only makes quality rotors, i have no concerns with them, and doubt they are thinner, they are thicker if anything. i know a lot of guys that use them for track use on their CTS.

i always use a torque wrench. i have a digital and audible one and a standard click one.

greenhornet - i think the winter tires she has on it are dunlop..but i have to double check.

torque wrench is over rated, i have to do it at work but none of my personal cars never failed me with impact gun. i feel you don't need them unless you are doing serious engine work my 88 benz 300e had 256k miles on it when i wrecked it never had any major issues and never used a torque wrench on it.

wheels i always use a torque wrench. especially when its not my car. last thing i was is to over-torque a lug and it snaps off either while putting it on or while the next guy takes it off, or under-torquing and the rim gets loose and goes flying.

doing suspension (depending on what part) torque wrench, but most other stuff i dont use it.

ill try to get some better pics next week. the brakes seem to have broken in nicely.
