Radio Display Brightness 2005 X-Type

Is there a way to brighten the daytime radio display? I've searched the manual and come up empty. It.s so dim that it's barely visible in strong daylight.

No real fix unless you replace the small led lamps (not easy) Most X types are the same regarding the radio illumination.
