Im new to forum so hope I place my question in correct place.

X Type. 2006 Diesel. 65k Miles.
Just taken delivery of the car this week, the previous owner put a new battery on car and didn't re-code radio. I believe that the code I am using is correct. When I turn ignition on, radio screen says Code after trying three times it goes to Please Wait after a while it goes back to Code. Radio will not turn off to blank screen, stays on saying Code all the time.

Or perhaps I need a new radio, can any one suggest a radio that will fit, perhaps with built in Sat Nav and parking assist.

Maybe at some point the original radio was changed out and you have the code from teh original radio. You can take it to a dealer and they should be able to give you the code. From what I have heard some do it for free if you can prove ownership while others may charge for the service.

 

Thanks for your help. I did think that might have happened. According to manual the radio is supposed to beep when you enter a correct code number. So I have tried every number as a first entry and no beep.

 

Before spending any money check this thread starting at post #19. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...des-help-1083/ - I've never had this problem but it seems like it might be worth a try.
