Default Radio went dead

Hi

Wondering if anyone can help: Radio went dead while*driving. Everything works. Changed the fuse. Is there anything else I can do? This is the Jaguar X-type, 2002, V6, 3 Litre. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, Hamish. Hope you will find it as a great resource in understanding your X-Type. One thing we ask is new members post some info in the New Members section. So, when you have a moment please stop by there.

As for you issue. You mention the radio went dead then you say everything works? Can you clarify that a bit? Like do you mean although it looks like there is power to the radio because the display lights up there is no sound coming from the speakers? Was it working just fine and then all of a sudden cut out? Did you recently do some other work on your car and then you found out the radio was affected? The more info the easier it will be to diagnose. The best help I could be is because of something that happened to me. Under the dash between the steering wheel and the door on a left hand drive car there is a fiber optic cable for the radio. Once my son accidently pulled it out of the connection. If you look under there it is pretty apparent if it is out and where it would go. If you have a right hand drive car I am not sure where it would be, but am guessing in a similar spot. Other than that maybe someone else might have an idea where you can start. Good luck!

hi

No display, no power, just dead. Won't switch on. I've even changed the fuse. I am new to Jaguar so still reading up. No work was done but the car runs normally. I drove home just fine.
