At least you now know what you're in for. Here's hoping the other side isn't as big a bitch. It's amazing to me the amount of rust under some or on hubs, rotors, etc. of the cars that members have posted pics of. Mine grew up in NJ where they use salt on the roads and mine is really quite clean underneath.

i tried the puller regular style...
didn't budge

tried it the good ole country boy way....came off in seconds!...2nd bearing was more toasted than the first!

lucky it happened i guess as i found a siezed slide pin in the caliper...heated up the caliper, attached vice grips and twisted the sucker out!

Ummmmm.....no......although if I get my kitty back tomorrow (getting the door dents from the tween kicking a door open onto mine) fixed. I'll be running it out on base to have a look at the upper "Thermo" control arms. Posted a pic in another thread and guy said nice, but is that a crack in the bracket? I'm like wth? Pic is not close enough and clear enough expanding it for me to know if it's a crack or normal, smfh! If it's not one thing it's another.

Hello All,
2004 X-Type 3.0
I have been trying to replace my passenger side rear wheel hub over the last few days, and am having a very hard time separating the old hub off of the half shaft splines.
I thought the hardest part of the job was the 4 ToxT50 bolts and was not aware that the hub can be stuck on the half shaft. I celebrated too soon when I removed the 4 Torx bolts.
Now the old hub is hanging loose off of the knuckle and stuck to the half shaft.
I tried using 2 different hub pullers, no luck. It just won't budge.
I tried the same puller shown in this post. no luck If I understand correctly Hammering helps to break it loose? I am not quite clear what part of the hub puller you hammer? is it the Center screw toward the hub and the axle?
I have not tried heat yet. I also have a portable torch (similar to the one shown in this post). What part would I aim the torch at?
Also the Torx bolts the heads are slightly damaged, does anyone know the part number/bolt spec to replace them? (any recommendation for a better option than female Torx T50?)
Any help is very much appreciated, please. Thank you.

Hello All,
Thank you for the info and all the replies.
What is the torque spec for the 4 Torx bolts on the rear wheel bearing hub assembly?
I did not want to re-use the old and rusty bolts / stripped Torx heads, I picked up 8 (for both sides) new Jaguar original Torx 50 bolts (a challenge to source), installed them and the bolt heads snapped off of 3 bolts of the 8 bolts. This is a major safety concern.
The dealership will replace the bolts. I do not trust these bolts anymore.
Is there any recommendation for different bolts? part number?
I appreciate any help.
