Rear Seat Release Cable Trunk Mounting Hardware
When I bought my new (to me) 2002 X Type, the right rear seat release cable was hanging loose in the trunk. Using my keen sense of observation, I realized that the cable mounting collar had broken off.
I know that I can buy a complete replacement cable with the mounting hardware (see pic), but I was wondering if the plastic mounting collar itself has a part number and is sold separately?

If I do have to buy a replacement cable, does the collar simply come apart so I can take it off the replacement and put it onto the cable already installed in the car? (thus keeping me from having to detach old and reattach new cable from latch mech at seat)

Maybe try jimmying it into place and then gooping it up with some JB Weld.
It may be an inelegant solution, but no one here has come up with an answer on the part availability for you yet, and the goop is likely much less expensive than the part or cable assembly.
Good luck!

PS - I like your signature line, "If it ain't broke - it ain't broke"
That is much better than my motto: "If it ain't broke - fiddle with it until it is"
