Default Rear sensor installation

Hi there,

Fed-up with hitting my rear bumper I have brought a rear sensor kit 4 sensors one control unit and a main led unit. My question is it takes it power from the live feed from the rear reversing lights…

Any ideas which wire I need to cut into? Also any ideas how I can get the sensor wires into the boot area? Any holes close buy?

Cheers,

cyberice, if you look down in the spare tire well in the boot/trunk, the left side near the bumper should have a plug there. This is the plug for the factory parking aide system. Inside of that plug should be everything you need to wire up what you have. THe black wire is the ground, the yellow/green wire is your switchable power wire, and the green/black wire is your reverse light wire (gets 12 VDC applied to it when the back up lights are turned on).

As for getting power out to the bumper, you should also find a blanked off hole right in that area that will lead out to the bumper area. If not, drill yourself a hole big enough to pass what you need through and then make sure to have a rubber grommet handy to seal the hole up. The kit hopefully has one supplied with it and should even tell you the size hole to drill.

If you need more help, let me know.
