can anyone give me some specs on the rear shocks for the X-Type 2.5 base model - I want to see if I can come up with an alternative that after the fact will be as effective in performance - and cost less at the same time. I need the diameter of the bar pin - bar pin width from center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole - overall diameter of the shock- width of the shock bushings and eye hole diameters... anything else you can give me would help - I want to have all this info before I take anything apart....

 

Meouch, if you do some looking, Monroe does make a shock alternative for our cars. I am just not sure if that may be something that you would be interested in. While they are cheaper, you are also getting what you are paying for.

 

I've never really liked Monroe - I don't think I'd use a direct replacement from them. who carries them? I don't see anything for this car on their site... maybe I was trying not to see...

 

I decided to go with the HD - see how it should really feel before I go mucking with things....

not sure how good they are as thermo says you get what you pay for.
