My rear swaybar/anti-roll bar mounting bushings are shot. I'm looking for a urethane replacement if anybody knows where to find them. So far I've found nothing. Next best bet -isn't there a member here that sells aftermarket and o.e. parts at a discount? I lost most of my bookmarks with a hard drive failure and can't remember the vendors I had.

 

Rudy, talk with a local 4x4 shop. They should be able to get you a set of poly bushings that will do what you need. If not, talk to "ken@britishparts.com". He is a member here and if the factory part exists, he will be able to get it for you. I have dealt with him and he will treat you right.

Ken's shop used to be 2 blocks from me. He moved, and now is 2 miles away. Good prices, uses OEM parts and can often offer used parts. They're usually about 30% less than dealer on OEM when they intall. Their warranty on repairs isn't as long as a dealer (90 days vs. 1yr). Very good work though for those in Dallas or Houston, especially for complex issues. They have two locations. Jags and Land Rovers is all they do.

Well, if anybody is interested, the Energy Suspension universals work like a charm. Used the non-greaseable 3/4" i.d. set. Took about 10 minutes to install, cost under $25 delivered from summitracing.com. As a side note, I was quoted $54 EACH wholesale from a dealership.

How do you like them?

I usually use Daystar poly's in my off road vehicles...might have to try Energy on the X...

 

So far, so good, ChrisX. I've never used them before, I just chose them because they had the universal by measurement chart. I've used Rancho and Skyjacker on my off-road racers, and PST polygraphite on my wife's Chevelle.

 

Energy is a good brand, I think they will hold up well for you. I might give this mod a shot next month.
I like Skyjacker stuff, usually top notch, as well as Rancho for shocks. I put a Skyjacker steering stabilizer on my ZJ, and now I don't have to be up on the wheel like a NASCAR driver. Gotta love 33's on a 4" lift!

Did you notice if this helped to reduce the understeer any? I was planning to install stiffer bushings on the rear of mine to try and 'simulate' a larger rear bar. My hope was to reduce some of the tendency of the car to plow in the corners.

Part # I used is 9.5123 from the non-greaseable chart on the webpage I linked. They're available in black or red, and I'm sure from many retailers. I chose Summit because they're close to me and I knew shipping would be quick.
I can't say I've pushed the car to notice any handling improvement, my motivation was NOISE!!! (Which is gone now, BTW.)

I just installed a set of these poly bushings on my rear sway bar. These bushings and brackets fit just fine.

I paid about $18 shipped from U. S. Parts Outlet on EBAY.

My original bushings started making rattling noise at about 40K miles. Junk.
