So.... I turn my car on and everything's fine then I pull off and drive for a couple seconds and then the car starts slowing down but still drives and that red gear icon shows up.. what is that and how do I get rid of it

Sounds like Limp Mode to me. Is Check Engine light on? You'll need to get the OBD codes read with a scan tool. Local auto parts store will do that for you if you don't have one. Write them down, then post them on this thread.
