remote not locking doors...

okay...so after solving my hood problem yesterday, i have a new problem! My remote lock is not locking my doors. It does this double honking noise when I press it to lock it! That usually means a door is open...but, all my doors are shut, very tightly, yet none of the doors are locking! Does this possibly mean I need a new battery or something? Please help, I really need my doors to be locked! Thanks!

BTW...i have a 2003 X-type.

means that the car thinks something is open.. check under hood d/s push plunger in or down.. and hold it then lock car.. if it works then the pad fell off the were the sensor touches the hood.. if that doesnt works.. then sometimes the trunk latch fails..

Agreed. Also open trunk and slam the lid shut. Then try locking.

hey...thanks guys...it was def. the hood! although it was on "tight"....it really wasn't! I opened the hood, then slammed it back shut...presto..the damn doors were locking again!!
