Angry removing driver door window regulator

Nothing, is happening,02 X-TYPE 2.5 Sport one down kat on rainy days.
I need to remove the driver window regulator, It's not going up or down,
the shop look at it already and wants to replace the regulator/motor.
I'm looking at removing it and getting it repaired,

Anyone having or had this problem?

Only moving on sunny days, my Kat don't like to get wet!

If you have the panel off the driver door, first check the 2 plastic clips that connect the metal glass 'grippers' to the vertical rails, see picture below.
They are prone to break. PM me if you need them.

Also would be interested in a short write up with good photos how to take the panel off and get the regulator out.

If you hear the motor running and a 'crunching' noise, chances are the cable jumped off the guide pulley.

Here is a picture of the driver side regulator.

If you take the panel off as vtraudt says above and check if the motor etc is working or the cable has jumped off. These are a very common problem on the X-Type and are always failing. Check which one is the problem or usually we just replace the motor and the regulator and are pretty straight forward to install. Let us know what you find out and i can offer advise on replacements and talking you through fitting etc.

I am trying to change the window regulator on a 2002 x type Jaguar, I have fitted 2 brand new units to the drivers door and both have had the cable come of the wheel and crunch up causing damage to the cable , any ideas why this is happening as this is 3 times now if you include the original fault

I have some used window motors if you are in need. I sell them cheap and send them out as soon as I can. Pm me and we can talk about it.

Good Luck,
The Dr!

Default door motor

We just lucky Ford didn't design the door assy. They rivet the assy. onto the door so you have to drill out rivets. Not a big deal but it's tight getting bolts/nuts back in with meat hooks like mine.Whiner Ah!
