When searching the UK Ebay site for key fob parts etc. I noticed that there were several for sale with the USA /Canada frequency specification.
These were very cheap as they have little value in the UK market but might be even better value to our American forum members.
It would just remain to get the UK seller to quote for sending these small light items across to the US.
