Default Replacing front hub bearings

X type 2002 3.0

For replacing the front hub bearings is there a notch machined
around the diameter of the hub bearing to knock it out with a punch?

Thanks,
Walter

The simple answer to your question is no. The hub isn't designed that way. You need to remove the vertical link and hub as an assembly. Then the bearing and hub are pressed out.

Below is a link to Jagrepair.com. Following the link and download the section of the tech manual for the chassis. X-Type Chassis Specifications.
You can download the other sections and have a complete tech manual.
