Default Replacing parking brake button?

Recently the parking brake button popped off and is broken slightly. It no longer goes back into place, and it is a bit difficult to engage the parking brake. I have unfortunately lost this button and I've been searching everywhere to find a replacement. I spoke to my local mechanic and after he checked the car out advised there's nothing wrong with my parking brake and I just need to replace the button in order for it to work properly. I have searched ebay and found the entire parking brake to order but it leaves me wondering... will I have to replace the entire parking brake or is it possible to remove the button only and install it in my vehicle? Any and ALL help will be greatly appreciated.

The SNG catalog lists it as an assembly on page 56.

I have the whole parking brake i can sell you for cheap. Let me know if it does come off I will be happy to sell you the button. But i am thinking if the button broke off You might need more then the button!

Good luck,
The Dr!

I was thinking the same thing Dr. Dome... however after speaking with my mechanic, he advised me all I need is the button, but for the life of me I can't see how you would be able to free up just the button from the parking brake. With mine it seemed as if a clip was broken, so that was the reason why it would no longer stay put.... BTW how much are you looking to sell the brake for? Also how much would it cost me for the fastest shipping method available? (it's time for inspection for my girl and I know she won't pass without this parking brake issue being resolved)

I know this was a long time ago, but it has become relevant for me now (actually for my daughter who now drives this car). Were you able to put the button back on, or did you replace the entire hand brake? Was this an easy process?
